ABOUT OUR TEACHERS

The teachers at Spanish Lessons at Home are native Spanish speakers who are qualified teachers and who possess experience. We select the teachers who have the following qualities: able to adapt to the student's level and pace of learning, who are patient, who have a positive attitude with a sense of humour, who are well educated and well informed.

Every teacher goes through a training session with Spanish Lessons at Home in order to learn how to give the students the most favourable teaching atmosphere. We meet regularly online and hold frequent meetings. The teachers adapt themselves with the learning pace, the language level and the objectives of the student.

Ana ¡Hola! I am Ana Estrella. I am a Linguist and a Spanish teacher. I do research on Spanish acquisition and phonetics and soon (hopefully) I will get my PHD in Spanish Linguistics. My mother is from Spain and my father from Ecuador thus I have been living in the two countries all my life (coming back and forth, even though I hate flying over the Pacific Ocean!). I graduated from Delta High School. Chances are that you have never heard of this small western Colorado town of Delta, where I spent my senior high School year as an exchange student. Later on I was a Spanish Language Scholar at Reed College (Portland, Oregon). It was a great experience, since Reed is a challenging and very interesting College. During the last years I have lived in Quito, Madrid, Sevilla and now I am in Barcelona, which is a great and trendy city, full of energy. I love reading, writing, swimming and watching films and will be delighted to teach you ESPAÑOL and also Spanish and Latin-American culture.
